Local tips: The St. Paul's Bay resort is in the northern part of the island, comprising Qawra, Bugibba and St. Paul's Bay village.  Both Sunflower Hotel and its 4-star sister Hotel Santana (800m), are on the Qawra peninsula within a few minutes walk from a 2.5km stretch of promenade. Qawra hosts a number of shops, supermarkets, restaurants, bars, a cinema and a casino, as well as a vast array of water sport facilities. Qawra is also very close to the rural areas of Wardija and Mellieha, offering interesting country and scenic walking trails. The popular resort of St. Julians which is a mecca for nightlife is only a 20 minute drive away.
