Residencia El Rosal Cusco Hotel

Hotel Overview

Residencia El Rosal Cusco Hotel is in an excellent area of Cusco, perfect for enjoying all the charms of the city. Located in the heart of the Old City, the Residencia El Rosal is the ideal base for exploring Cusco, the historic capital of the Inca Empire which was declared a World Heritage Site in 1983 by UNESCO. Remains of the palace of the Incas, the Temple of the Sun, and the Temple of the Virgins of the Sun still stand and among the most noteworthy Spanish colonial buildings of the city are the Cathedral of Santo Domingo. From here you can visit the Urubamba Valley of the Andes mountain range, the fortress at Ollantaytambo and the ruins of Sacsayhuaman. This is also an excellent spot to acclimatize to the altitude before trekking the Inca Trail to the world-famous, awe-inspiring Inca site of Machu Picchu.

The hotel Residenca El Rosal Cusco offers all the services and facilities required for a memorable holiday in Peru. Information and assistance is available 24 hours a day at the hotel reception and after a long day of sightseeing, there is a restaurant for meals and a bar for drinks and snacks. The hotel has qualified staff offering massages, reiki techniques and aromatherapy as well as a rest and relaxation area with a Jacuzzi and a sauna. During 2010 the hotels 37 guestrooms have undergone total refurbishment and offer en-suite facilities, cable television, wi-fi internet and 24 hour room service.

Venturing out into Cusco has a real feel of adventure. In addition to the many historic monuments and relics, the city is full of colourfully dressed locals and their alpacas, most of which are more than happy to pose for a picture, just remember to ask first. You can pick up some excellent locally crafted bargains including alpaca wool hats, gloves and ponchos much cheaper than you would ever find at home, and the city also has plenty of restaurants, bars and even nightlife options with live bands, a couple of Irish bars and several nightclubs. Local and international tastes are catered for in the majority of restaurants and one of the most popular local dishes which you must try if you visit Cusco is Cuy – roasted guinea pig.
