Getting to the hotel: Pontins Southport Holiday Park is approximately an hour from Manchester Airport and Southport has its own rail station - just over an hour from Manchester.
Local tips: For a relaxing day out you could visit the Botanic Gardens in Church Town with its traditional shops and public houses, surrounded with quaint thatched cottages, or for golfing enthusiasts there are several world class courses locally, the pinnacle being Royal Birkdale.
