The spectacular rocky outcrop of Ponta da Cruz is the location of the LTI Pestana Grand Ocean Resort Hotel, offering breathtaking sea views from the bay of Funchal to the high sea cliffs of Cabo Giro. This unique 5 Star property is one of the last remaining oceanfront sites on the Funchal coastline and features the largest hotel heated salt water pool on the island, an impressive activity pool in the health spa, as well as an extensive range of restaurants, bars and facilities. The hotel is just a short walk from the new Madeira Forum Shopping Centre which has a large selection of restaurants, shops and cinemas. Other activities in the area include squash, pedal boats, jet skiing, parasailing, wind surfing, and golf at the 18-hole Palheiro Golf Club and the 27-hole Santo da Serra Club. Funchal Airport is 20 km from the hotel.
 
Getting to the hotel: Madeira International Airport is 24 km away from the hotel. 
 
Local Tips: A pedestrian promenade runs along the spectacular coast for about 3 km to the beach of 'Praia Formosa'. Edged by botanical gardens, there are lots of viewing points and seats to enjoy the stunning scenery. Please note that along parts of the promenade there are steep steps - not suitable for people with walking difficulties.

Sports, games and activities: One large salt water outdoor swimming pool, children's salt water outdoor swimming pool, Billiard Lounge, entertainment and games lounge, gymnasium, Sauna, Jacuzzi, Body Massage and Facial Treatments, Turkish Bath, sweet water indoor pool with jet stream.
 
Additional: 24-hour reception, Internet access available in the rooms by cable (service against fee), Wireless Internet in the restaurant and bar areas (free service), conference rooms, laundry service, lift, medical assistance, underground car park. Guests staying here on a Half Board basis are able to enjoy a Dinner & Show at the Casino da Madeira for a €10 per person supplement (payable locally) from Tuesdays to Saturdays. A complementary pick-up service is available with this (drop-off is not included). Reservations must be made at least 24 hours in advance at the hotel reception - where a voucher will be issued which must be presented upon pick up. Please note any beverages consumed must be paid at the Casino da Madeira (they are not included in the Half Board supplement & cannot be billed to the room). Children up to 12 years old (inclusive) are free of charge when accompanied by adults.
