Marmaris is a lively beach resort on Turkey's south-west Mediterranean coastline. The resort overlooks a wide sandy bay and is surrounded by mountains and glorious scenery. Visitors to Marmaris can explore the narrow streets full of traditional shops and bars, stroll along the attractive seafront promenade or meander round the bustling Old Town with its 16th century castle and impressive marina. You can also enjoy water sports and scuba diving, walk along the beach to nearby Icemeler, and after dark the nightlife in Marmaris is among the best in Turkey with live shows and plenty of music and dancing.
