Hotel Overview
Situated in the heart of the Land of the Sun, this family-friendly country house is ideal for trips to Taormina, Agrigento, Syracuse, Noto and Ragusa Ibla. The farmhouse is surrounded by green hills, not far from the slopes of the Etna, a fief of over 200 hectares of fertile lands cultivated according to peasant traditions. It is close to famous tourism sites such as Piazza Armerina with its Roman villa, Caltagirone, with its beautiful historical town centre and famous for its production of majolicas, and Morgantina, an ancient Greek town with its agorà and wonderful theatre. Fontanarossa Airport is the closest airport, just 80 km away, and Punta Raisi Airport is 220 km from the hotel. The farmhouse, a former 14th century monastery, surrounds a Sicilian courtyard and offers 26 comfortable rooms and a dining room, as a place of magical union of typical fragrances and flavours of island cuisine made from organic products, and Nero d' Avola wine. The farmhouse is a family-run establishment, founded in 1990, led by Elio Savoca. He has restructured the existing buildings, improved the grounds and planted Nero d'Avola grapes, respecting a rigorous programme of low environmental impact. He has also invested by enlarging the surface of the high-quality grape land to build the new winery. The farmhouse itself has a lobby area with safe, TV lounge, restaurant, dining and breakfast rooms, and conference facilities. Guests may also make use of the laundry service and the car park.
