Originally built in 1957 to celebrate malaysia's independence, the 4 star federal hotel is a landmark hotel combining old world charm with modern facilities and comforts. Located in the heart of kuala lumpur on jalan bukit bintang, guests are within walking distance of the major business, shopping and entertainment centres. With the sungei wang plaza metro station just 5 minutes walk away this is also an ideal base for wider explorations of this most vibrant of cities. After a day in the city, where better to unwind than in the rooftop swimming pool set amidst tropical garden, then on to the cosy verandah restaurant overlooking the gardens. Alternatively enjoy a 360-degree panoramic city view and fine cuisine at malaysia's first revolving restaurant - the bitang, chinese dishes at the mandarin palace or japanese delights at the sushi bar. All 350 of the smartly furnished air-conditioned rooms are well appointed with all modern amenities including satellite tv with pay movies, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, safe, internet access and hairdryer.
Please note that hotel is undergoing refurbishments of their guest rooms in Merdeka Block (from 3rd to 9th floor). Works are being carried out from now until October 2013, between 10:30am until 5:30pm on weekdays and 11:30am until 5:30pm on weekends and public holidays. Noise will be kept to a minimum. Renovations will not affect the Tower Block, Public areas, restaurant or meeting rooms.
