Hotel Overview
Built in 1895, Hotel Burnham - A Kimpton Hotel, a former State Street office building, is now a boutique hotel located in the Loop District, just blocks from Millennium Park. The glittering, white terra cotta?and-glass exterior opens to a small, two-story lobby where travelers enjoy a fireplace, mohair chairs, and chocolate brown?leather chairs with leopard-print backs. Thick mahogany columns soar dramatically, and in front of iron-gated elevators is a re-creation of the original mosaic-marble floor.
Guestrooms feature creative, detailed decor includes handmade-style, dark-wood furniture; gold-toned, gauzy bed curtains; rounded headboards; and spacious desks. All rooms are nonsmoking. Each morning, the Chicago hotel offers complimentary coffee and tea in the lobby. A hosted evening wine reception between 5 PM and 6 PM is crowded with hotel guests.
