Hotel Overview
The hotel is a former coaching inn dating back to 1786. The charming atmosphere of the old house is complimented by attractive and contemporary features. In addition, guests may enjoy the stunning views of Loch Lomond from the viewpoint. The hotel itself comprises 52 rooms, spread over 3 floors, of which 43 are double rooms. Facilities include a lobby with a 24-hour reception, lifts, a bar and a restaurant. Those arriving by car may make use of the hotel's own car park. Luggage, room and laundry services complete the range of service on offer.
## Location
This hotel is situated in breathtaking countryside close to Loch Lomond and lies only 30 min away from the cultural centres and shopping facilities of Glasgow and Stirling. Links to the public transport network are easily within walking distance of the hotel. The village of Drymen has a good selection of shops, pubs and restaurants, only a short stroll away from the hotel.
## Rooms
The en suite rooms offer all amenities the modern traveller could wish for whilst retaining the typical character of the hotel. They feature a bathroom with hairdryer and in many rooms guests will find a heated hand towel rail. Further facilities include Internet access (WLAN), satellite/ cable TV, a radio and tea and coffee making facilities. Moreover, an iron and ironing board and other household equipment which guests may require is available on request. The heating may be individually regulated.
## Sport
The exciting leisure area of the hotel was refurbished in 2006. Guests will find a 14 m pool, a Jacuzzi, a sauna, a steam bath with natural oils and a sunbed available for their use. In addition, there are 2 tennis courts and a large sports area with exercise bikes, sports bikes, treadmills and cardio vascular machines. Those who wish to may play a game of squash or take a course in aerobics, aqua aerobics, yoga or enjoy cardio vascular training. The beauty salon offers facials and guests may take advantage of the self-tanning treatments, massage, reflexology massage or manicure services and much more. Golf enthusiasts have the opportunity to visit the following golf courses, which all lie in the surrounding area: the Buchanan Castle and Strathendrick golf courses which are 5 minutes away from the hotel, and to the north, the Callandar, Aberfoyle and Killin courses which are around 30 min away as well as the world famous Loch Lomond course which also lies some 30 min away on the beautiful shores of Loch Lomond.
## Meals
Guests are invited to spend a great evening in the Tapestries Restaurant. This restaurant has a reputation for fine food, sociable atmosphere and outstanding service. Both Scottish and continental dishes are served using the very best regional ingredients. The restaurant also keeps an wide selection of wines. Guests may relax in the bar and enjoy the odd one (or two) Malt whiskys. The hotel can offer its guests a selection of over 40-year old whiskys. The Sun Lounge is the perfect place to take afternoon tea. In the winter months guests may enjoy the wood fire here. For those who would rather take their meals in their rooms, there is a 24-hour room service available.
