Hotel Overview

Set in a scenic and peaceful village of Daratso in Crete and occupying a large area of private land, the Althea Village Hotel offers a quite a memorable holiday experience. The apartments are surrounded by large beautiful gardens populated with many olive and fruit trees in a much of traditional Greek style makes for a pleasantly tranquil and peaceful setting in the middle of Crete.

The Althea Village features 9 suites, 55 rooms including single, double and triple rooms and 29 apartments that come with a kitchenette for self-catering, some can accommodate up to 5 people in the apartments. Each of the rooms feature at least one balcony/terrace with sea views and include all the essential amenities like air conditioning, fridge, satellite TV, telephone, safe and a bathroom with shower/bath. Within the grounds you can enjoy a walk or meal in the well-kept gardens, relax or go for a swim in the outdoor swimming pools or make use of the fitness centre so you will surely find your stay a pleasant one. For indoor entertainment the hotel has a game room and bar area “Artemis” where you will find table tennis, table football, pool/snooker tables and electronic games. During the evenings the hotel often organises regular Cretan and Greek musical entertainment to help welcome guests to the local culture and area.

Guests that wish to dine at the hotel have the choice of eating either a la carte style or open buffet at the main restaurant/tavern “Aktaion” offers authentic Cretan cuisine made from fresh produce that is known for its nutritious qualities.
There is also the poolside bar “Elia” open most of the day where you can enjoy light meals, snacks and drinks while relaxing in or by the pool and gardens.

The nearby historic and cultural centre of Kato Daratso offers yet another unique experience with its picturesque harbour and buildings, with many shops and restaurants available in the area. Activities nearby include water sports, horse riding and mini golf, whereas you will find the nearby beach of Agioi Apostoloi about 15 minutes away.

Within the grounds of the hotel there are 2 full size outdoor pools with separate children's area for each one, all surrounded by a large sunbathing area within the gardens of the hotel.
There is also a fitness centre on site where guests can make use of the gym and massage facilities.
