San Antonio Bay lies, as the name suggests, across the bay from San Antonio on the south west coast of Ibiza. It is only ten miles from the airport so transfer time is short. Although the Bay area is not as frenetic as San Antonio town there are still many bars and restaurants to satisfy the needs of holiday makers. San Antonio Bay is a perfect family resort with a good choice of beaches.

San Antonio Bay lying across the bay from the town of the same name is a very pleasant family resort with several beaches. It stretches west from Punto des Moli and includes several beaches which seem to get better the further they are from the town. Platja des Pinet and Portes d’es Torrent are lovely beaches with fine sand. There are numerous opportunities for water sporting enthusiasts including the adrenalin rushing parascending which is not for the faint of heart. There are two nearby islands, Illa Conillera and S’lla des Bosc, which are uninhabited and ideal for yachters, divers and snorkellers. San Antonio Bay is well endowed with bars and restaurants and those overlooking the bay are ideal for viewing the renowned sunsets. As well as water sports there are many land sports in the area including golf, tennis, quad biking, go-karting and horse riding. In August, nearby San Antonio celebrates the festival of St Bartholomew with feasting and dancing. On the actual saint’s day, 24th August there is a great firework display.
Although San Antonio Bay is quieter than its neighbour it is still a vibrant resort with many bars, cafes, hotels and restaurants catering for the evening entertainment of the island’s summer visitors. Many of the hotels and bars have live music but not so many remain open until the early hours of the morning. Those who do want to party until dawn can take advantage of the disco buses which run through the night ferrying people to and from night clubs.
San Antonio Bay has a good range of retailers supplying the needs of holiday makers including craft, gift and souvenir shops. For keen shoppers, a bus ride around the bay, will take you into the town to sample the designer boutiques and specialist shops of San Antonio.
San Antonio Bay caters for all tastes from fast foods to traditional island dishes. Fish plays a major part in the island’s cuisine. Fresh from the daily catch and simply cooked, it almost never disappoints. An evening meal on the water front gives the opportunity for enjoying the famed San Antonio sunset. Good food reasonably priced, pleasant inexpensive wines and friendly service ensure an agreeable evening. Children are always made very welcome.
