Kranjska Gora lies amid the wooded slopes of the Julian Mountains close to the borders of Italy and Austria. The resort lies at the fairly low level of eight hundred metres so the snow cover on the lower slopes can be variable. Kranjska Gora has twenty pistes and has access to eighty pistes in the Bohini ski area of which it is part.
