Kassandra Sani is a purpose built resort with hotel complexes spread along stretches of sandy beach. The beach is seven kilometres of soft sand which slopes very gently into the clear blue water of the Aegean Sea. The water is shallow and provides safe bathing for children and less confident swimmers. Water sport activities are provided by the hotels and these include diving. The area around the marina has a small number of bars, tavernas and shops.
Kassandra Sani is a quiet resort ideal for lounging on a sun bed by the sea. If you want to see a little of the surrounding area, there are buses to Kalithea and Nea Moudania. Close to Moudania are the caves of Petralona with their wonderful formations of stalactites and stalagmites. Fifty years ago a skull and tools were found in the caves which are several hundred thousand years old.

If you are really desperate for a shopping trip you can visit Thessalonika where you will find a wide range of specialist shops and boutiques. Popular souvenirs are ceramics, leather goods, gold and silver jewellery and embroidered linens.
Kassandra Sani lacks the traditional tavernas on the beach but its hotels do provide excellent food. If you want to eat away from the hotels, there are tavernas by the marina or you must travel to nearby villages such as Nea Fokea where you will find traditional fare. . A good way to try traditional food is to order Mezedes, the Greek equivalent of the Spanish tapas, which includes a variety of bite-sized fish, meat and vegetables.
